Landscape & Garden Design

Initial Consultation —

My approach to landscape and garden design starts with getting to know you, your space, and your style. In our initial consultation, I will guide you through a series of questions and prompts that will help me understand how you want to use your outdoor space and how you want to feel in it. We will collaboratively define your vision and that vision will later shape my design concepts and recommendations.

If you have them, feel free to bring photos, sketches, and creative inspo to this meeting. Wherever you’re at in the process, we’ll start there.

onSite VISIT & Site survey —

An onsite visit and site survey is critical to success of your landscape or garden project. I will collect spatial and structural measurements, take reference photos and/or videos, and evaluate the microclimate and growing conditions with which I’ll be working. I will also use this time identify and inventory what plant, building, or hardscape materials already exist in your space - things that we can keep or repurpose in our in our design plans.

The site survey enables me to define the full scope of work that will go into developing and implementing design solutions that will bring your vision to life.

Concept Development & Design —

I will begin by developing two unique design concepts for your space using the information gathered in the initial consultation and the onsite visit. These concepts will offer two different approaches to achieving your goals. I will present each in detail, and we’ll talk about what you love, what you like, and what you’d like to seen done differently. I’ll then revise and finalize a single concept based on your feedback before developing the full design program for your space.

The completed design program will include a series of layout, construction, material, and planting plans that give all parties involved in the installation of your project the specifications they need to successfully manage and complete your project.
